Our CD shipment shipped from Discmakers in NJ on Friday and arrived in Philly, PA, that night. Yesterday, it arrived in Louisville, KY, and now it’s on it’s way to Tucson.
The new CDs will be catching a flight to Tucson to arrive tomorrow morning.
We’re so excited. As soon as we receive them, our volunteer staff is set to ship them to you!!

Coming up! Fundraiser for Haiti!
Dr. Alfredo Valenzuela and the Valenzuela family are hosting a fundraiser for those suffering from the recent earthquake in Haiti at El Casino Ballroom, 437 E. 26th Street, Tucson, AZ 85713.
Date: Sunday, January 31, 2010
Time: 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Mariachi Tesoro de Tucson will play from 3:30 – 4:00 pm. Jaime Valenzuela is also the Music Director of Mariachi Corazón de Tucson. They will also perform along with serveral other local music and dance groups.
We ask you to join us in helping out those most in need while enjoying great music and dance performances from Tucson’s best!

Puro Tesoro! Will be released tomorrow, January 29th! We are very proud of this new CD and, especially the efforts of our young musicians and the Music Director, Jaime Valenzuela.
PURO TESORO! has 40 minutes of play time – 13 tracks of both traditional and modern mariachi music.

It took roughly 6 months to make the CD from start to finish, including the cover design, copyrighting, replication, and – of course, the music-making and production. We are grateful to the extra efforts of all the musicians and their families, Ismael Barrajas, the Track Engineer & Producer, Jaime Valenzuela, Music Director and Producer, Mariachi Nueva Generacion, Inc., Executive Producer, and our fans.
Having produced this CD professionally, we’ll never go back. But, we did learn a great deal. Now it’s on to marketing. We are open to helpful advice from the mariachi community at large and the local communities of Tucson musicians. We are using a viral marketing strategy, and would like to sell in locally owned music stores in addition to our online sales and word of mouth.
